This incident has now been fully resolved and closed once again.

Following detailed on-site investigation and a further review with engineers, we are confident that the root cause has been identified as a mechanical issue within the UPS battery cabinet. Specifically, excessive pressure from mounting brackets on the battery units resulted in abnormal operating conditions affecting the battery string, which explains the repeated failures in such a short space of time.

We experienced an overnight power trip affecting our main intake and communications room. As a result, the UPS systems supplying the area transferred to battery power and were subsequently exhausted, leading to a temporary disruption to network services.

Power to the main datafloor was not lost.

Services are now restored and we're actively monitoring to ensure everything is stable.
