We have had a failure with a piece of hardware which was going to be used for our 10 Gigabit network upgrade. Due to this failure, we have been unable to put 10Gig into the UK for now. We will be rescheduling this upgrade for some time down the line and we will inform all customers before this upgrade happens like we did with this set of upgrades.

We are finishing up our maintenance on-site but expect no further downtime for any nodes.

We will be performing full maintenance on all our racks within our UK Location (#1, #2 and #3) - This work will start from 10:30am and we'll be finished by 18:00 GMT at the latest.

This next round of rack work will include the following changes:
- Rack Layout changes to maximize our rack space and removal of old servers
- Full 10Gb/s rollout into our UK Location (Into all racks)
- Planning for additional uplinks and routers to allow for more redundancy
- New cisco switches to replace our current switch infrastructure
- ALL current dedicated clients will be upgraded from 1Gb/s uplink to 2.5Gb/s (No additional cost)
- VDS upgraded from 1Gb/s to 2.5Gb/s
- Adding Additional links for upgrading UK VPS from 1Gb/s to 2Gb/s in the near future
- New VPS Nodes being brought into production for more capacity
- Putting infastructure in place for the rollout of IPMI control for dedicated servers
- Putting internal infrastructure in place for better remote management internally
- Adding a bulk storage backup server for VPS/VDS servers backups
- New Minecraft node being rotated into production to allow for more capacity
And much much more cool stuff!

What does this mean?
For the likes of our switch upgrades to happen - this will require us to drop all networking offline within all of our racks so we can swap old hardware out, bring new switches online and swap users over. We are allocating about 30 minutes max for all work to be carried out - this does not mean the amount of time you will be offline. we aim to get all servers back online ASAP (within 15 minutes) - but additional work may need to be done within the additonal time which could mean some servers are taken offline for this to happen.

Other users on some VPS nodes, Shared game and some dedicated server clients located within our first rack (Rack #1) maybe subject to some downtime whilst we reposition some nodes within our racks - we will aim for minimal disruption where possible regarding this and will only take a node offline if it's required to carry out the work needed.

Why are we doing this?
This is all part of our long-term plan to allow for future expansion, greater stability within the UK and overall easier management of our racks moving forwards - for the better of everyone.

We’ll be updating this status page throughout the day of the work stating what is happening, what work is completed and if we run into any issues with anything.

If you have any concerns about this maintenance - or have more questions, please open a ticket so we can address them as best we can.

Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in us as we work to improve your service experience for the better - these next rounds of upgrades/changes will be our biggest yet.

Regards,
Will Allison - CTO @ EUGH
